This is the marriage of our revolutionary WB absorber with our high performance Ultra detector. This surface absorber stands up to average power densities of 100 kW/cm². That is the best in the world for average power density. Difficult applications like DPSS lasers, excimer lasers or even femtosecond pulsed lasers, where small beam sizes and short pulses generate extremely high power densities are ideal candidates for the W9 absober.

Ultra performance also means accurate. It is hard to do better than our NIST traceable calibration and Personal wavelength correction™. This UP series detector is the best choice for any high average power density application.

Just as with the other UP family, the UP50N-W9 family has a full range of detectors to provide the best choice for any application. They include the low profile UP50N-40S-W9 stand alone detector good for measurements from a few mW to 40 W. The heat sink of the UP50N-50H-W9 pushes that to 50 W. For embedding in machines or for greater immunity from environmental fluctuations, we also offer the water cooled UP50N-50W-W9. All the 50 W versions are good for 75 W if the laser exposure does not exceed 2 minutes.

With this option every member of the family can be equipped to measure single shot pulse energies up to 500 J per pulse as well as average power.
