Here is your monthly news from Gentec-EO in April 2024.

Product updates


Here are the changes in the software:

  • Added "Video Trigger" function
  • Drag and drop for files with *.bmg and *.m2geo extension
  • Launch PC-BEAMAGE and load data (images or M2 images) by double-clicking on files with the *.bmg and *.m2geo extensions.
  • Restricted access to the "Pipeline" button so that it is activated only once, and after communication interruption, its use is no longer possible.
  • Added a "Settings" button allowing startup actions such as: "Pipeline" activation, automatic camera connection, and automatic minimization of the PC-BEAMAGE window.


All user manuals and software are available in the download center.

Laser Lab Awards: donation of laser beam measurement equipment

Gentec-EO has 12 laser beam measurement instruments to donate as part of the 2024 Laser Lab Awards program.

With this program, Gentec-EO aims to support educational laboratories by giving students access to the same quality measurement instruments that are used today in the industry.

To enter, applicants must choose a laser output measurement kit among 5 options, describe how they intend to use it in their laboratory and elaborate on the physics principles their students will learn by using this equipment.

The program is now open for application until June 30, 2024.

What are the limitations of my laser power meter's damage threshold?

While laser power meters can be designed to handle high power levels, like our HP400A-100kW, they can still be damaged if not used carefully. For instance, applying 150 kW of power to a 100 kW-rated meter can lead to damage.
