Product family key features

Fastest response

With their silicon sensors, the IS detectors are as fast as photodiodes.

High average power

Two sizes are available, both with high average power capabilities:

  • 12 mm aperture for up to 9 W of continuous power
  • 50 mm aperture for up to 1000 W of continuous power

Resistant coating

Our proprietary coating is designed to be strong. Its damage thresholds are orders of magnitude higher than any other "white" coatings on the market.

Precise calibration

The IS detectors have a NIST-traceable calibration for their entire calibrated spectral range. Temperature compensation completes the calibration to give you the most accurate and stable measurements.

Choice of output

The IS detectors are available with two output options:

  • INTEGRA with USB output (-INT)
  • INTEGRA with RS-232 output (-IDR)

Award-winning technology

The laser power detectors in the IS series were recognized among the best solutions on the market by an esteemed and experienced panel of judges from the optics and photonics community at the 2022 Laser Focus World Innovators Awards.

AWARD-WINNING TECHNOLOGY

The laser power detectors in the IS series were recognized among the best solutions on the market by an esteemed and experienced panel of judges from the optics and photonics community at the 2022 Laser Focus World Innovators Awards.

The IS series opens up new measurement possibilities such as following the complete ramp-up of high-power laser sources, or tracking fast changes in kW-level laser power. The integrating sphere’s proprietary coating was designed to handle high laser power density, and its NIST-traceable calibration provides accurate, reliable results.

Measure from low powers to the multi-kilowatt level with a single device

The broad dynamic range and very low noise equivalent power (NEP) of the IS integrating spheres provide users the ability to measure several lasers with different average powers with only one device.

Benefits:

  • Outstanding signal-to-noise ratios (SNR)
  • No need to change detector or manage attenuation when the measured power spans a wide range
  • Lower initial and maintenance costs compared to buying multiple detectors to cover the same range

Monitor high-power lasers at high speed

Thanks to their photodiode-based sensor, power meters of the IS series measure in under 200 ms, tens of times faster than with thermal detectors.

Benefits:

  • Faster measurements: no need to wait for the detector to stabilize
  • Discern quick changes in laser power
  • Follow the ramp-up of high-power sources
  • Increased productivity

Diffused back-reflections confided in an angular cone

While thermal detectors and water calorimeters diffusely reflect 10% to 15% of the incoming light in a Lambertian manner, integrating spheres of the IS series reflect only 6% to 12% more directionally through their optical aperture. This helps improve safety in the measurement environment by making it easier to deal with back reflections.

Fast response in the VIS-NIR range with a silicon absorber and the IS series

Photodiode-based detector offering a fast response for VIS-NIR wavelength. Our silicon absorber makes it possible to measure very low powers down to the microwatt level. Its damage thresholds are higher than any other “white” coatings on the market.

Customers enjoy:

  • Outstanding dynamic range
  • Fast response
  • Reduced angular back-reflections
  • High damage thresholds

NIST-TRACEABLE CALIBRATION INCLUDED

Traceable calibration provides the ability to trace the readings of laser output measurements to known international measurement standards determined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This ensures that the measurements taken by the instruments are reliable and accurate.

Benefits include:

  • Make valid comparisons of measurements taken by other instruments inside and outside your organization and over time
  • Comply with regulations or conform to industry standards
  • Avoid costly measurement mistakes in your operations
  • Improve customer confidence in your laser systems
  • Ensure laboratory experiment validity
  • Demonstrate measurement accuracy easily with the calibration certificate we provide

Optional INTEGRA (USB or RS-232) output

When you choose the INTEGRA output option you get an all-in-one measurement instrument that combines both the detector and the meter in one convenient product. Plug the detector in your PC, install our free software and start measuring.

Why choose it?

  • The most cost-efficient solution
  • Same measurement performance as our other solutions
  • No compromise on interface functions and features
  • Compact solution for OEM applications and field servicing
  • Save money on recalibration with an all-in-one instrument
