What’s new at Gentec-EO in July 2018

Below are the latest news and important updates from Gentec-EO in July 2018.
New official Gentec-EO recalibration center in Europe
Until now there were only two recalibration centers in the world for Gentec-EO’s products, one at our headquarters in Canada and the other in Japan. There is now a third one in Germany to better serve our European customers.
The calibration service is available through Laser Components, our distributor in Germany. Learn more about this service.
New for all Pronto models: Serial commands are now available
You can now control your Pronto remotely with serial commands. If you purchased your Pronto before April 2018, make sure that you have updated your firmware to the latest version. All the available serial commands are listed in the latest versions of the user manuals.
User manual updates available
The following user manuals were updated in June:
- Pronto-250 and Pronto-250-Plus – Version 4.4
- Pronto-Si – Version 1.7
- Pronto High-Power – Version 1.3
- Accessories for Beam Diagnostics and Attenuators – Version 4.0
- Beamage-M2 – Version A
All updates are always available on their product page and in the download center.
Major update for the PC-Beamage software available
There is a major update for the PC-Beamage software for Beamage-M2 (Version 1.06.00). Here are the changes:
Improved interface and functionalities for M2 measurements:
- All beam diameter definitions & orientations available
- New way of saving M2 measurement: all M2 images are now contained in the .m2geo file
- Improved automatic scan:
- ISO scan recommendation after one scan
- New min and max stage position buttons
- Load M2 results without beamage camera plugged in
- Faster moving stage when taking measurements
- Bug corrections
General improvements for PC-Beamage:
- New image formats available: save images as *.JPG or *.BMP
- Improved stability: PC-Beamage now prevents computer from going to sleep mode while running
Firmware and drivers updates available
- The firmware for the Pronto-250 was updated to version 1.00.12
- There are now drivers available for SPJD (Version 1.00.00)
- The MACH6 drivers are now available in one installer (Version 1.00.00). It is fully certified for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10.

Gentec-EO’s distributor in Korea, QBIC Laser System, were present at Laser Korea at Kintex exhibition center in Goyang from July 11 to July 13. This was a great opportunity for many businesses to try our laser beam measurement devices.
